Antique Railroad Spike Hammer, CB&Q The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad
Wonderful find this antique spike hammer owned and used by The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, commonly referred to as the Burlington Route, the Burlington, or as the Q. The CB&Q Railroad is one of the oldest railroads in the USA established in the 1840s.
The hammer is marked CB&Q and 8 10, we are unsure of the exact date of this hammer, although and educated guess is around 1890-1910. It was found in Southern Western Iowa.
We believe the hammer was made by Warren.

Marked, CB&Q
Measures, 30 ¾” long, 14 ¼” wide at head, weighs 11.4 pounds.
Condition, couple chips on head wood has splits.
