Antique French Telephone, Thomson-Houston, Candlestick Telephone
Wonderful find this is the French version of the candlestick telephone, made by Thomson-Houston of Paris France.
This phone has a unique designed handle set, with a standard earpiece and a horn style mouthpiece. The handle set is made of nickel-plated brass with a Bakelite earpiece, the column is painted brass, base is painted metal.
The telephone is all original with the base being repainted at some point.
Condition is nice with the normal scuffs and ding from age, Bakelite earpiece has a chip shown in pictures, and the backside of horn has a couple dings shown in pictures. We also show pictures inside of handle set and base to show all original wiring and parts.

History,
Thomson-Houston Electric Company was founded by Elihu Thomson and Edwin Houston in 1879. In 1892, the Thomson-Houston Electric Company merged with its rival, the Edison General Electric Company, to form General Electric (GE). That same year, the company formed an overseas subsidiary, named Thomson Houston International, based in France. During 1893, Compagnie Française Thomson-Houston (CFTH) was established as a partner to GE. (Information from Wikipedia)
