The transit is in beautiful used condition with minor paint wear from use, the telescoping sight adjust freely with focusing knob and the eyepiece focuses with focusing ring easily, the sight is clear (could use a little cleaning on inside). The compass locks and unlocks easily and the compass works and accurate. All the level vials or in good working condition. All the knobs, clamp screws, leveling screws and tangent screw tighten and loosen easily.
The case is original leather pouches attached to the inside of the door with the original 8oz plumb bob, adjustment tools and foldout magnifying glass. Inside the case is another leather pouch with a screwdriver (screwdriver is broken), and sunshade lens cover.
