We have for sale a Vintage Pair of Bavarian German Children's Authentic Lederhosen Shorts - Leather Suede – Gray

Never worn vintage pair of Lederhosen from a local estate. Made of beautiful and traditional grey leather with forest green and ruby red trims complete with elk embossed suspenders as shown. We believe they were made in Germany and they appear to be 1970’s-80’s vintage. The only mark is vague as noted in the pictures. Waist is 25 inches and length is 12 inches. No wear and no soiled spots. Minor flaking of green fly trim appears to be from dryness.

The waist size is adjustable from 25" to28" +
this correlates to a size 10-14
the length of the shorts are 12" measuring waist down

Lederhosen have a tradition that reaches deep into the past, and remain today as an important cultural symbol in Austria and Germany’s Bavaria. They were historically worn by alpine shepherds, dairy farmers, and hunters. Lederhosen have been worn in southern Germany and the surrounding regions since the 16th century.

Short lederhosen were traditionally worn mainly as daily workwear in the mountains and while hunting. The small pocket sewn onto the side is where the wearer would keep a small hunting or work knife. Lederhosen are a popular purchase for the huge German American community in the United States.
