Antique Stove Coasters, Glass Furniture Coasters
Rare find, this set of four Glass Stove Coasters. Yes, Stove Coaster, these were used under the feet of a wood stove to protect the floor from the heavy cast-iron stove.
The glass feet were introduced just after the invention of linoleum flooring. The heavy weight of the stoves would cut into the linoleum flooring, causing damage. The thick glass coasters were a decorative solution.
Circa: 1870-1900
Measures: 3¾” x 3½” x ¾” thick.
Condition: scuffs and scratches.
