Antique Richards & Wilcox Hand Crank Wet Stone
Wonderful find: this early Hand-Crank Grinding Wheel, made by the Richards-Wilcox Manufacturing Company of Aurora, ILL.
Amazing original graphics on both sides of this turn-of-the-century wet stone, a true collector's piece. The stone is 8” in diameter & 1-1/8” wide, suspended by a center shaft with bearings for smooth operation. The cast iron water reservoir is 2” deep & 2” in width inside. The reservoir is attached to a metal base.
A nice industrial décor piece or a vintage way to sharpen your knives.
Circa: 1900
Marked: Richards & Wilcox.
Measures: 9” tall, with a 9” x 5” base.
Condition: The wheel has a couple of edge chips as shown in pictures. It appears metal was repainted at some point.
