Vintage 1950s Singer Sewhandy Model #20 Sewing Machine & Carry Case
A wonderful child-sized sewing machine, made by Singer Manufacturing Company and manufactured in the USA. This is a fully Functional hand-crank sewing Machine in toy size. Originally patented in 1910 and manufactured until 1975, these were known as the most popular toy sewing machines ever made. This is the 1950s model, which has a thicker base column, although it still uses the same mechanics as its 1910 predecessor.
This machine is finished in the Singer classic black with gold trim. It operates smoothly. The threading is simple on this machine, with all the parts numbered 1 through 6, and down to the needle to thread this little machine.
Comes as shown, with original green carry case, instructions, hold-down clamp, fabric guide, screwdriver, and extra needles. Also included is a special treat: two issues of the 1954 Butterick sewing pattern guild catalog
Circa, 1950s
Marked, Singer.
Measures: case 10” x 9” x 5” depth.
Condition: runs very smoothly; has light wear on the sewing plate with a couple of paint chips on the flywheel.
