Rare find: this cast iron stove flue cover was made by the Great Western Stove Co. of Leavenworth, Omaha, & Denver. Made of cast iron, it has three holes for wall mounting.
History,
Great Western Foundry, the parent company, started as a foundry in Leavenworth, Kansas, in 1858, initially building steam engines and steamboat parts. The stove division was created around 1875 and eventually handcrafted over 100 styles of cook and heat stoves.
Circa: 1880-90s
Measures: 14¼” diameter, 1” thick.
Two inside ring diameters: outer 14”, inner 9¾”.
Condition: solid and rustic, raw cast iron.
