We have for sale an Elegant Vintage Antique Whiting and Davis Gold Metal Mesh Purse #2932
Art deco style sparkling and slinky gold mesh Whiting and Davis handbag suggests it is from the 1920s or 1930s. Snap closure with original chain link strap closure – purse closes with strap inside so can be used as a clutch when desired. Square metal frame has a scalloped top edge and a line patterned on the front and back of the frame.
Frame is stamped with Whiting and Davis Mark and SN 2932. Original light pink satin lining with Whiting & Davis Co. Mesh Bags tag.
Purse is in good vintage condition with some tarnish consistent with age. Snap shuts firmly. Small area of lining has separated from frame but lays flat against frame. We do not repair/refurbish items but this appears to be easily reattached. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
The top of the bag is 7 1/4" wide and the bottom of the bag is 10” wide. Top of clasp to bottom of bag is 7” and top of chain to bottom of bag is 12”.
