Antique Apothecary /Cast Iron Cork Press / Monogram (M)

Sorry, this item has sold.

Thank you for viewing our Store,

We have for sale an Apothecary Cork Press, Monogram (M)
This Mid-late 1800s Cork Press is made of Cast Iron, has a monogram (M) on the top. These were used by Pharmacists and Druggists to compress corks for medical bottles, it has four different diameter 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8” press points. Measures 8” long and can be screwed down to a work surface.

Circa; Mid to Late 1800s
Measures; 8" in length, 3" wide at base.
Condition; very good for its age, the original black paint is still present but lightly worn, nice dark patina.

*** Caution there are reproductions of these, they are fairly easy to tell the difference, most reproductions don’t have the screw holes in the feet and if you look at the bottom some are flat and don’t have the support beam running the length of the press.
