We have for sale an Antique 1890s Minneapolis Brewing Company Golden Grain Belt Beer, Advertising Corkscrew
This Golden Grain Belt Beer corkscrew is from the time period when Grain Belt was first introduced it is in wonderful condition for its age, it is a beer opener from the late 1800s before the bottle cap was invented, it is called a walker self-pull corkscrew, once the bell above the screw touches the bottle top and you continue to turn the corkscrew the cork will start pulling from the bottle.

Measures; 5.625” long, 3.625” wide
Circa; Late 1893 – 1910
Condition is very good, nice graphics on the wood handle little wear on the sides (see Pictures), the chrome plating is very nice has some plating loss, nice sharp bladed worm.
The bottle cap wasn’t invented until the 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore, but not highly used until into the 1900s. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes, Beer and Alcohol. The corkscrew was invented in the late 1700s and still used today.
In 1893, the Minneapolis Brewing Company introduced Golden Grain Belt Old Lager to the market. The name “Grain Belt” referred to the geographical area of the country where the beer was brewed.
