Exquisite 1900 Daniel Low & Co. of Salem MASS. sterling silver perfume corkscrew, this is known as a finger loop handle corkscrew which has a silver-plated steel bladed worm (corkscrew)

Featured in Daniel Low & Co. of Salem, Massachusetts 1900 catalog. Also listed in, Bull’s The Ultimate Corkscrew Book page 106.

Measures; 3.625” Long
Condition; Very good condition with only minor wear on the finish of the corkscrew blade.

History:
The bottle cap wasn’t invented until the 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol. The corkscrew was invented circa 1750s and still used today.
