Victorian Heat Grate, Hexagram Star, Cast Iron Heat Grate.
Wonderful turn of the century 1900 cast iron heat grate. This is a complete 3–piece levered grate, the outer ring measures 15 ¾” diameter and has holes to attach to the floor, the middle ring measures 12 ¾” diameter and rotates to an open or closed position to adjust air flow, the center ring measures 6 5/8” diameter and is adorned with a six-pointed star or hexagram star.
The center piece is usually missing, so I was very happy to see grate was a complete set.
Grate was painted at some point to rust or barn red color, paint is worn but can be easily repainted to your color choice, original color was black.
Circa,1890-1900
Measures, 15 ¾” overall diameter, Weighs 10.2 pounds.
Condition, Very good no cracks or chips. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
