We have for sale a set of Antique Medical Blackout Sunglasses.
These are a very rare find a pair of medical blackout glasses designed for a vision impaired person. Each glass lens is marked F8 prescription code darkness, the frames are nickel plated brass, the nose bridge is covered in a leather wrap to help keep the glasses from sliding down the nose.

History,
The design of these glasses tells a story the nose bridge is called an "X" bridge it was designed and used from 1810 to 1900. The Long straight Temples (side arms) were used between 1850 to 1900 and the Temple Finials (endings) are known as Teardrop loops and used between 1790 to 1900. Pinpointing the actual date on these glasses is very difficult, so we have dated them at the latter part of these dates, sometime between 1850 and 1900.

Circa, 1850-1890
Measures, nose bridge 1 1/8” wide, Temple arms 8” long.
Condition, vintage used condition, with light scuffs and scratches, no chips. Please see all pictures as they are part of the description.
