Thank you for viewing our Store,
We have for sale an Antique Advertising Bottle with Hidden Corkscrew.
Wonderful find this turn of the century 1900s Bottle Shaped advertising corkscrew for the Anheuser Busch Company and the Malt Nutrine.
The corkscrew was made by the Williamson Company of Newark New Jersey and patented 1897. This corkscrew is stamped PAT. APLD FOR, meaning made before the patent date.
Unscrew the bottle and fold out the hidden corkscrew, screw the bottle back together to form a handle for the corkscrew.
Malt-Nutrine was produced from 1895 to 1942 by Anheuser-Busch based in St. Louis, Mo.
Anheuser-Busch’s Malt-Nutrine was a low-alcohol form of beer, less than 1.9% alcohol. Some would say the first lite beer.
Why a corkscrew for beer? The bottle cap was not invented until the late 1800s by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore and not highly used until into the early 1900s. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol.
Measures, 2 7/8” long, 5/8” diameter.
Marked, Williamson Co. Pat. Sep. 4, 1900
Condition, very nice condition with wear on finish.
