We have for sale a wonderful antique oak Singer puzzle box with Singer attachments and thumb indent box latch works perfectly. The workmanship is extraordinary for this oak with purple velveteen lined box and interior latches so each attachment could be secured. For Singer’s Vibrating Shuttle style machine (2, 27, 127, 28 and 128).
The accessories vary depending on the model and the year for which it was issued.
Box is stamped with a patent date of February 19, 1889.
The patent was applied for in 1888 by John M Griest (he spelled his name that way before he began the Greist Manufacturing Company). The patent for a ‘folding box’ was issued in 1889 to the Singer Manufacturing Co.

Marked, as noted on pictures.
Measures, 6 3/8” long x 3 3/8” wide x 3 3/8” high
Condition, this item is in good vintage condition, missing some attachments as shown in pictures.
