We have for sale a 10 Antique Vegetable Ivory / Tagua Nut Buttons
Wonderful find this set of 10 Vegetable Ivory buttons. These are very old and each button is a little different with its own unique grain pattern. The buttons are ¾” in diameter and are domed at 1/8” thick.
Perfect for a craft project, scrapbooking, craft, jewelry making or matching costumes or uniforms.
Pictures only show 9 buttons there are 10, one was being camera shy.
History,
Vegetable ivory buttons, Vegetable Ivory is a natural renewable rain forest material from a palm tree nut also called tagua and corozo. It can be dyed; dyeing brings out the grain. It is still commonly used in buttons today.
Buttons measure, ¾” diameter.
Condition, couple of the buttons have natural cracks.
