We have for sale an Antique Thomas Prime Silver Wick Trimmer and Tray
Very elegant candle wick trimmer from 1880 made by Thomas Prime of Birmingham England. The trimmer and tray are Silver Plated Brass, and the trimmer is hallmarked with the Prime markings a date stamp of (M) for year 1880.
This will make an amazing gift for that special person.
History,
The firm was founded in 1818, Thomas Prime (father, son, and grandson) were involved in the silver-plate business: Thomas Prime Snr (1797-1881) Thomas Prime Jnr, then ran the business from May 1892 until the factory was closed in about 1900.
In 1890 the firm was active as "silversmiths and electroplaters" at 107 Ryland Street, Birmingham and in London Showrooms at 5 Charterhouse Street.

Marked, Prime Hallmarks
Measures, trimmer 7 ¼” long, tray 10” x 4”.
Condition, nice for age some plate lose on trimmer tip and feet, tray has light scuffs.
