We have for sale a Primitive handmade Foldout Clothes Drying Rack, Wall Mount Drying Rack, Laundry Drying Rack
Wonderful piece of American history. I so enjoy my work when I find a piece like this, it is 100% handmade and found in a small town outside Toledo Ohio.
From its rough-cut wood to its square nuts and bolts this piece screams 1920 or earlier. Completely functional still today, easily attaches to the wall you lift and pivot the hanging rods out and walla! an instant drying rack to hang your wet clothes on.
The rack is made of oak hardwood strong and very sturdy; the hangers are approximately 20 to 21 inches long. When not in use it folds down and takes up very little wall space. I mentioned above it was made from rough-cut wood that is true but not to worry no sharp edges or splintery wood it was used, and all the edges are worn smooth.
If you appreciate primitive handmake items this is perfect, would go great in the laundry room or in the kitchen to hang wet dish towels on.
Circa, 1900-1920s or earlier.
Measures, 6” wide and 33” long when hanging down on wall, when setup for use the rack protrudes 25” off the wall and fans out up to 24” wide.
Condition, very strong and sturdy and solid piece.
