1920s Italian Advertising Corkscrew, Cora Torino Vermouth, Wine Bottle Opener

$189.00

Italian Advertising Corkscrew, Wine Bottle Opener
Wonderful find this one-lever or waiters style advertising corkscrew made by Paul A. Henckels of Solingen Germany, not to be mistaken for J.A. Henckels (Johann Abraham Henckels) of Solingen Germany. The corkscrew is made of steel with brass overlay case on both sides. The corkscrew is known as a bladed worm design which is sharp on the outer edge allowing it to cut through the cork with ease.

The corkscrew has advertising on both sides of the case reads,
(Vermouth Cora)
Vermouth di Torino. Cora was the first Torino producer to begin exporting their product as well as the first vermouth exporter to the United States market (1838) as well as to South America. Cora grew quite successfully until World War II.
