We have for sale an Antique Glass Dazey Butter Churn 4-Quart
Wonderful and Original Dazey home butter churn. This is a stunningly beautiful glass churn; it is a 4-quart size with screw-on metal lid and wooden beater paddles and handle. The glass jar is clearly marked 4 QT at the top and below in a circle Dazey Churn & MFG. Co. No.40 Made in St. Louis – U.S.A. the base is marked 562. The glass has air bubbles through-out and a couple sand flakes very common for glass made in the 1910s the glass also has a smokey tint to it.
The metal crank has several markings, the main frame is marked 40, the gear is marked 40 G, the handle is marked 40 H. The screw on lid is made of tin and the crank mechanism is made of cast iron with steel shaft the runs down the maple wood beaters.
Overall condition is used and 100 years old, glass has scuffs on bottom and light scuff and scratches throughout, rim has a couple tiny, tiny fleabite chips. Wood is very solid no missing parts; metal has paint lose and rust spots throughout.

History,
E.B. Jones developed a small glass churn for home use around 1904. Nathan Dazey purchased Jones' business and relocated it in St. Louis, Missouri as the Dazey Churn & Manufacturing Co. Dazey churns were made up until around 1945.
