Antique 1899, Willcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine with Case

Antique 1899, Willcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine with Case.
This is one of the first portable electric sewing machines produced in the United States, made by the Willcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine Company New York N.Y. Willcox and Gibbs started manufacturing sewing machines in the late 1850s. This design machine was produced as a Hand Crack Machine, Treadle Foot Pump Machine, and an Electric Machine. This is a single thread machine that produces a chain stitch.
We have thoroughly cleaned and serviced this machine it runs exceptionally smooth. We have tested the machine and it sews nicely. This machine is old and does need some attention in the future, the cord is old and should be replaced at some point, the feet on the bottom of the case need to be replaced, the foot peddle is not the original but works nicely. We mention these items to be honest about the machine and have our customers aware of any issues.
Serial number A680322, this machine was manufactured in approximately 1899.
