We have for sale an Antique 1870 Mason’s Pint Fruit Jar with CFJ Company monogram
Wonderful find this light blue fruit jar from the 1870. This is a Mason’s 1858, pint-sized jar, made by the Consolidated Fruit Jar Company and is marked with the CFJ Co. monogram.

Quick history about the Mason’s 1858 jars. These jars were made by nearly every glass bottle manufacturer in America, through the Patent dates of 1858 to 1880s, companies mass produced untold tens of millions (or more) of these jars. But there are some rare and hard to find ones that collectors keep watch for.

This jar was an early production jar, it is a two piece jar the treaded mouth was attached to the lower body when the glass was still molten, the rim is known as a ground edge rim which also helps date the jar. The jar is known as a drop shoulder jar. The Consolidated Fruit Jar Company started making these jars for Mason’s around 1870 +/- the pint-sized jar is not nearly as common as the quart jars. The lid is made by Boyd’s most likely not the original, but it is an old one. This jar has wonderful air bubble and ripple lines throughout the jar, the raised lettering is very clear.

Measures, 5 ¾” tall x 3 ¼” diameter at base.
Marked, Mason’s CFJ Co monogram. bottom of jar is marked G300
Condition, Very good with no cracks, light scratches on outside and base, light haze on inside, couple flea bite chips on rim. Lid has a couple holes.
