Antique Tobacco Plug Cutter, P. J. Sorg Co. Spearhead
Wonderful find this old tobacco plug cutter made by The Rogers Iron Company of Springfield Ohio and made for the P.J. Sorg Tobacco Company of Middletown, Ohio.
You would have found these in mercantile and tobacco shops across America in the late 1800 bolted down to the countertop for cutting plug tobacco.
The cutter has its original red paint and cutting blade, the cast iron is in wonderful condition no cracks or chips.
As with all our antiques we recommend they be treated as antiques and not used as an everyday item, there are precious few unique antiques left in the world.
Circa, 1910s
Measures, 17” long, 4 ¼” wide, 4 ½” tall.
Condition, original with paint loss and fading, surface rust.
