Amazing condition this beautiful 1898 General Store Cast Iron Coffee Grinder made by Enterprise manufacturing Company of Philadelphia PA.
Patented July 12, 1898.
This is a medium sized General Store grinder, which makes it perfect for Home, Store or Coffee Shop display or use.
Stands 14½” tall, 16” wide and the fly wheels are 10¾” diameter.
The grinder is original and in working order, the paint is the original Red and Blue with yellow trim and gold sunbursts on the fly wheels, the top hopper lid and catch drawer have the original white porcelain knobs, the decals on the front and rear of the machine are original.
The grinder mechanism is remarkably clean and grinds wonderfully, it is adjustable to grind the beans fine to coarse. The grinder is marked throughout with the company name and patent date.

We have lightly cleaned the grinder and oiled all the moving parts, we have replaced the oil-port wadding for the main shaft, the originals were dry and unusable. Overall condition is very good and grinds smoothly. The paint has chips throughout from normal wear, the wood base, handles and drawer have scuffs and dings. The adjustment screw for the coarseness of grind is missing the wood knob.

History,
The Enterprise Manufacturing Company, founded in Philadelphia in 1864, was one of the leading makers of both large and small coffee grinders. Enterprise made heavy-duty grinders for grocers, retailers, and wholesalers.
