Sorry, this item has sold.

Antique 1920s Voigtlander Avus Large Format Plate Camera with Kodak Verichrome Film.
Wonderful find the early 1900s plate camera made by Voigtlander of Germany. Voigtlander produced the Avus camera from 1913 till 1934.
The camera produces a 9x12cm / 3x5 inch photo. We were very lucky to have found this camera with some unused Kodak Verichrome Film (unsure of condition of film).
The camera features a 13.5cm f4.5 Skopar lens, the lens is focused with a rack and pinion knob at the right side along with a focus scale on the bed (pull knob outward to engage). The lens can be adjusted side to side by turning the knob on the left side.
Overall condition is very good for age bellows is solid and strong with no tears or wear, camera seems complete. Exterior has scuffs and wear for use and storage.

History,
When you say antique Voigtländer camera to any camera collector bells and whistles go off, because Voigtländer was one of the founding fathers of photography.
From 1839, the year when the invention of photography was being published, came objective optics and from 1840 complete cameras for photography. The Voigtländer objectives were revolutionary because they were the first mathematically calculated precision objectives in the history of photography, developed by the German-Hungarian mathematics professor Josef Maximilian Petzval, with technical advice provided by Peter Voigtländer.
