Apothecary Maddock & Sons Mortar and Pestle
Wonderful find this 1890s Mortar and Pestle made by Thomas Maddock & Sons of Trenton N.J.
This is a #1 porcelain mortar and embossed with the makers mark TM&S (Maddock & Sons) WARRANTED ACID PROOF on the base. The Pestle is also made of porcelain with a wood handle and marked #1, this is a matching set.
Circa,1880s
Marked, Warranted T.M.&S. Acid Proof 1
Measures, 5” diameter 2 7/8” tall, pestle 7 1/8” long
Condition, Pestle is solid, wood normal stress cracks in the porcelain, both pieces have light staining.
