Vintage Art Deco Style Mailbox, Brass Mailbox
Wonderful Arts and Crafts style mailbox made by the American Device Manufacturing Company of Steelville Ill.
Made of cast brass with metal back and metal newspaper holder. Has an upper door for inserting mail and a front door for retrieving mail also has lower newspaper holder (which is easily removed if not needed). Mailbox is very solid, both doors function freely and front door latches and is designed for a small padlock.
The design on this mailbox is an early Arts and Crafts style, the upper lid is design to look like cedar shake shingles, the door was designed to have a piece of colored or clean plastic sheeting inserted in the window area.
Circa, 1920
Measures, 6 ½” wide, 11 ½” tall without newspaper holder, protrudes 3” off wall.
Condition, very good for age, needs a good cleaning.
