Set of Brass Sleigh Bells, Swedish Style Bells on Hip Strap
Wonderful find, this amazing set of four large brass horse bells, this set is known as Rump Bells, they are placed on the top side of the horses’ hips and with every step the horses’ hips ring the bells.
The two largest bells measure 2¾” in diameter, smaller measure2” in diameter.
Traditional Swedish bells are made of cast brass. They have a distinct ridge around the middle and a graceful tulip shape.
Circa, 1890-1910
Measures, 14 ½” long, 2 ¾” width, 3 ½” height.
Condition, bells are solid, each bell has a stress crack, leather is old and worn.
