Antique 1930s JUSTRITE Carbide Lantern, Mining Artifact, Miners Lantern.
This is a large Justrite carbide mining lantern in good clean condition with all the interior parts intact, made of brass. This lantern can be used as handheld or hanging, the handle is a three-part design with the center part being a hook for hanging the lantern. The reflector on this lantern is very large 7¼” diameter, which help it produce a greater amount of light.
The heyday of this type of light was from the turn of the century to the 1930’s. These were used in the coal mines for years. Lantern is marked on top (Justrite, Made in U.S.A.).
We have lightly cleaned the lantern it has no smell from the carbide and its ready to display or as an amazing gift.
The photo with the smaller second standard size lamp is to show the size of this larger lamp, it is not included in sale.

Measures, 8” tall, reflector is 7¼” diameter.
Condition, Amazing condition with scuffs and scratches from use. The reflector has a couple spots where the chrome finish has worn off.
