Antique 1800s Sterling Silver Roundlet Style Corkscrew
Fabulous find, this 19th Century Sterling Silver Corkscrew. This is known as a Roundlet Style Corkscrew. Roundlets originated in the 18th century, and are still manufactured today, mostly in plastic sheath form.
This beautiful piece is an amazing find in excellent condition, with a sterling silver case and a steel fluted worm (corkscrew).
It is marked Sterling on the removable side of the sheath. Heirloom worthy.
The fluted worm (corkscrew) is designed with a groove cut along the backside of the worm which allows air into the bottle releasing the vacuum in the bottle, allowing the cork to pull easier.
Circa, Mid-Late 1800s.
Marked, Sterling.
Measures, 3-1/8” long.
Condition, excellent with one tiny ding at the rounded end of the sheath, (as shown). Plating lose on worm from use.

Photo Props not included in sale.
