Antique Pair of August Buermann Hercules Bronze Double Gal-Leg Spurs, Western Spurs, Lady Leg Spurs
Beautiful pair of Bronze Western Spurs manufactured by August Buermann of Newark, NJ.
These are Buermann Gal-Leg Spurs made from Buermann patented Hercules Bronze. Each spur is marked near the inside strap button.
The spurs have a 1-5/8” 20-point rowel, 2-1/2” shank and chasing around the outer heel-band, and both sides of the shank (Lady Leg Design).
The Straps are marked H. B. Brand.
These have been sitting in a collection in Wyoming for the past 60 years.
If you’re a collector of Western Spurs these are a must have.
**This is a patented metal alloy called Hercules Bronze, which was a non-rusting alloy that had a nice bronze appearance (though it is not bronze).
Circa, 1890-1900
Condition, very nice condition, Leathers are worn, spurs are as found un-cleaned.
