Antique Ladies Legs Corkscrew marked Graef & Schmidt, Wine Bottle Opener
Wonderful Ladies Legs Corkscrew. Ladies Legs Corkscrews are the grand prize, sought after worldwide by collectors of corkscrews and several other collectors as well.
This pair was manufactured by Graef & Schmidt, and made in Germany, they are known as a Celluloid full-leg striped stockings in a green and cream color.
Short History,
Known to have been made in Germany as far back as the 1880s, but only patented in January of 1894, registration number 21718, by Steinfield &
Reimer of Germany. These were manufactured up until the 1920's. They were manufactured by several different makers though those years. And were re-manufactured in the 1970s in Germany and China they were no were near the same quality of their antique predecessors.
Circa, 1900
Marked, Graef & Schmidt, Germany.
Measures, 2 5/8” long.
Condition, good with light scuffs and scratch on the Celluloid, some plating lose on steel.
