Beautiful pair of Bronze Western Spurs manufactured by August Buermann of Newark, NJ.
These are Buermann Indian Chief Spurs made from Buermann patented Hercules Bronze. Each spur is marked near the inside strap button.
The spurs have a 1¾” 10-point rowel, 2¼” Drop shank and the heal band has about a 2¾” spread. Spurs also have the original double brass heel chains. Nice, tooled leather spur straps.
These spurs have no iron metal in them, they will never rust.
If you’re a collector of Western Spurs these are a must have.
**This is a patented metal alloy called Hercules Bronze, which was a non-rusting alloy that had a nice bronze appearance (though it is not bronze).
Circa, 1890-1900
Condition, very nice condition, Leathers is old but solid, spurs are as found un-cleaned.
