Beautiful and highly collectible Anri wood carvings have been around for over 110 years hand carved and painted. This beautiful set is known as The Buddy Set, by the looks of them they both may have had too many glasses of wine and are helping each other home. Both gentlemen have a hidden surprise lift the left man’s head to reveal a corkscrew and lift the right man’s head to reveal a bottle opener. Behind the Buddy’s is a suitcase, disguising a music box. To operate the music box, you gently wind the key on the back of the box and when you lift the head of the gentlemen on the right the music box is triggered to play, replace the man’s head and the music box stops.
The music box plays the melody (ancora un bichierino di vino) (another glass of wine).
The logo on the bottom dates this Anri to between 1954 and 1967.
This Carving is in exquisite condition for 80 years old.

Circa, 1950-60s
Measures, 5” x 3¾” x 7” tall.
Condition, exquisite condition, music box works wonderfully.
