1919 Baldwin Locomotive Steam Engine Brass Plaque
Amazing fine, this original 1919 Brass Baldwin Locomotive Steam Engine Plaque. The plaque is dated April 1919 and is made of solid brass and weighs 4.7 pounds. It has the serial number 51596 on the front and an engraved serial number on the back of the plaque 846E36. The plaque would have been mounted on the side of a Steam Engine Locomotive; it is contoured to the radius of the Steam Engine.
The plaque is as found uncleaned, it shows some scuffs and scratches.
When a Locomotive was decommissioned, it was sent to the scrapyard and one of the only things usually taken off the Locomotive was the Serial Number Plaque.
This is on every Railroad Collectors must have list, but extremely hard to find.

Measures, 9¼” diameter.
Condition, scuffs and scratches, dents, and dings, it was on a train.
