1936 Singer 221 Featherweight sewing Machine with Carrying Case, Fully cleaned, and serviced Serial Number AE212101. The machine badge was issued on June 4, 1936, and was manufactured in Elizabethsport, NJ, USA.
This is a very special machine with several notable distinctions. In 1935, the bobbin winder tension bracket changes from school bell style to a black, flat front mounting style. 1935 was the last year for the solid bobbin winder wheel. 1935 was the last year for the base mold was modified from being split (aka: "split base") under the electrical terminal to being solid.
It has an original 110-volt motor and beautiful chrome trim. The machine, case, and attachments are all in good vintage condition. This is a very nice machine finished in that classic deep gorgeous shiny black featherweight paint, gold decals and chrome trim. Please see all photos as they are part of the item’s description.
**We have thoroughly cleaned and serviced this machine and replaced any worn or faulty parts. New electrical cord and foot pedal cushion feet.
We will send the original cord in case you would like to have it rewired.

This is a beautiful machine and runs smoothly, the machine has the normal wear from use, it just turned 88-years old this year. The case shows wear on handle and throughout. You won’t be disappointed in this lovely machine

Overall Condition,
MACHINE, runs and operates smoothly, sewing bed shows light scuffs, and scratches, wear on front pinstriping.
CASE, some wear on corners, scuffs, and scratches, very structurally solid, leather handle shows more wear.
