Large Thomas Maddock & Sons Co. Mortar & Pestle #7
Wonderful find this large porcelain Mortar & Pestle made by Thomas Maddock & Sons of Trenton N.J.
This is a #7 porcelain mortar and embossed with the makers mark TM&S (Maddock & Sons) WARRANTED ACID PROOF on the base. The Pestle is also made of porcelain with a wood handle and marked #7, this is a matching set.
This is a larger Mortar & Pestle Mortar measures 10¼” diameter at top rim and 5¾” outside height. Pestle measures 9 ¾” long, 2½” diameter. Weighs just under 13 pounds.
Overall condition, nice used condition, mortar has two hairline surface fractures, (shown in pictures) these are only on the surface and common in larger sized Mortars.
