American Indian Artifact Hammer Head / Axe Head, Sioux Lakota.
Beautiful Native Indian Artifact Hammer Head. Made of Granite Stone.
This Artifact was found in the 1960s in the foothills of the Black Hills near Rapid City South Dakota. In 1800 the Sioux Lakota inhabited this area.

The Lakota, also known as the Teton Sioux, were the most dominant group in the region during the 1800s. They were known for their nomadic lifestyle, hunting buffalo on the Great Plains, and their warrior culture. The Lakota consisted of several bands, including the Oglala, Hunkpapa, Minneconjou, and others. (info from Wiki)
We state this is Sioux Lakota only due to their presents in the area at that time.

Circa, 1800s.
Measures 4½” long” 3½” width, 2½” thickness, weighs 2.2 pounds.
Condition, wonderful condition as found, has a chip on larger end.
