Antique Henry Armstrong’s 1903 Lazy Tongs Corkscrew
What a wonderful find this Henry Armstrong’s Lazy Tongs Corkscrew.
Henry Armstrong applied for his first English patent of this design in 1902 patent #354 he reapplied for a revised patent that same year, patent #10,595 May 8, 1902, the change to the corkscrew was slight but a game changer. He added the slotted cross bar attached to the bladed worm (corkscrew) this change allowed the corkscrew to fully collapse making the insertion of the worm into the cork easier, last revision Dec 22, 1903.
Marked on both sides, H. D. Armstrong, Patented. Comes with a copy of the 1903 patent.
Tested and works great for being 122 years old

Measures, 6 ¾” wide and 5 ½” tall Collapsed. 11” tall when extended.

Condition, as found condition, works very well complete loss of finish.
