Antique Medical Glass Sanitary Sterilizer Box
Wonderful find, early 1900 Sanitary Sterilizer Box. Sanitary Sterilizer boxes, like this were used in early 20th century, barber shops and medical practices played a role in preventing infections before modern automatic sterilizers became widespread.
Made of thick molded glass with air bubbles throughout, nickel-plated brass door and frame. The door latch turns clockwise to unlock, at some point the seal on the door was replaced with a leather seal.
This is a wonderful piece for your Apothecary collection or a gift for someone in the medical field.
Circa, 1890-1910
Marked, Sanitary Sterilizer.
Measures, outside 10” tall, 7¼” wide, 11” in depth.
Condition, some scratches and scuffs on the glass.
