Antique 1882 Bung Hole Hand Drill
Wonderful find, this large hand drill, designed to drill tapered holes in wooden cast barrels such as Whiskey, Beer, or Wine barrels.
The dill has no makers name on it, although it has a patent date of October 17, 1882.
It has 3- cutting blades, at the tip is a 1½” wood bit, on the side is a 2¾” long slanted blade for cutting the tapered angle, and an adjustable depth relief cutter which cuts an outer grove at the start of the bung hole.

Circa, 1880s
Measures, 18” wide at handle, 15” long.
Condition, very nice condition for age.
