Antique Garden Hose Nozzle Collection
Rare and wonderful collection of brass antique garden-hose nozzles.
This is truly a rare collection of garden-hose nozzles from the late 1800s.
Selling these as a collection or one at a time, choice them all or just one.
The nozzles are pretty much made the same with different lengths and overall designs. All have a removable tip and a twist style petcock valve; they are old and used and show dents and dings.
#1 - 7¾” long. Has a slight bend.
#2 - 77/8” long. Couple dings and a slight bend.
#3 - 7½” long.
#4 - 61/8” long.
No one really knows who invented the garden hose nozzle, it’s one of life’s true mysteries. The fire hose nozzle was invented by Jan van der Heyden around 1673. He and his son produced what they referred to as "fire hose," which was made of leather and sewn together in lengths of about 50 feet. Guessing the garden hose was soon to follow along with the source to turn it on and off, the garden nozzle.
Circa: 1880s.
