Vintage Advertising, Watt Yellow Ware Ribbed Nesting bowls, Serving Bowls
Wonderful find, this special group of advertising Bowls, manufactured by Watt Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio. These bowls were produced around the late 1930s and early 1940s and are stamped Watt Ovenware USA on the bottom
Two of these bowls are stamped on the inside bottom with the advertisement (Dumont or Bristow Grocery & Locker “Good People to Mix With”). Locker; meaning a place to store your meat and perishable before mass production of home refrigerators.
Bowl sizes,
#6, 6” diameter at rim. Marked with advertising.
#7, 7” diameter at rim. Marked with advertising.
#8, 8” diameter at rim.
#9, 9” diameter at rim.

History,
Watt Pottery was family owned & operated company in Crooksville, Ohio, 1922, Start by making crocks and jugs. And in the 1930s, they shifted to ovenware and began hand-painting kitchenware in the late 1940s, creating collectible, country-style patterns They operated until fire destroyed there factory on October 4, 1965.

Circa: 1930-40s
Marked: Watt U.S.A. Oven Ware.
Condition: incredibly good for age, all have spots of crackling on the glazing, #6 has a factory blemish crack on rim which was factory glazed over and a chip on bottom heat ring.
