Antique Griswold Cast Iron American #8 Waffle Iron with Low Base.
Early Cast Iron stove top Waffle Iron made by the Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie PA, USA. The logo on this waffle iron is called a Slant Lettering Logo. Both sides of the Iron and the base are marked with the Griswold Name.
The base is considered a low base which was designed to be used on an antique wood or coal cooking stove with an open cooking hole (meaning circular cooking plate removed). With the base over the open cooking hole the waffle iron can rotate 180 deg. without lifting the iron.
Griswold came out with this logo in 1900 and used through 1910.
The waffle maker is as found need cleaning.

Measures, Iron 15½” at handle, 7¾” diameter. Base 1½” tall, 10” diameter at bottom. Weighs 9 pounds
Condition, Needs cleaned. Selling as is. Handles are damaged.
