Vintage 1930s Chippewa Springs Water Wooden Shipping Crate with Antique Glass Bottle

Chippewa Springs Water, Wooden Shipping Crate with Bottle.
Wonderful find, this lovely old wooden shipping crate from the Chippewa Springs Corp. of Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. For their Chippewa Spring Carbonated Water. The crate has one remaining bottle also marked Chippewa Spring Water. It is a heavy gauge bottle designed for Carbonated Water. It would have held 2-QTS. 1-PT. 6-FL OZS. or in today’s terms 3.5 QTS. The Bottle is marked Chippewa Spring Water in raised lettering. On the bottom its marked Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. Made by the Owens-Illinois Glass Company. The logo on the bottle of this bottle is known as the Serifs Logo; it was made at Plant-7 in Alton Illinois in 1939.
The crate was designed open on the sides at the bottom, so that water would not stay trapped in the crate if bottle leaked.

Fun Fact, the town of Chippewa Falls Wisconsin is also the home of Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company (Leinenkugel Beer).

Marked: Chippewa Spring Water
Measures: 19” x 12½” x 11¼” tall. Bottle 10¾” tall, 5¼” diameter.
Condition: rustic, as found, crate shows wear, Bottle is good no chips or cracks, does have surface scratches.
