Stunning Tuscany Demijohn light green glass in Grapevine Woven Basket
Demijohn is pronounced deh·mee·jaan, it is a French word describing a large bulbous, glass vessel with small opening, used primarily for the fermentation and storage of liquids, such as wine. Demijohns are well-documented throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.
This beautiful Demijohn is utterly amazing, handpicked by a friend on her travels through Europe years ago. Standing 19” tall, and 17” diameter. The basket is hand woven from grapevine and filled with straw to nestle the amazing light green glass Demijohn safety. The basket is in wonderful condition, strong and sturdy, the hand-blown glass Demijohn is fantastic, the glass has wonderful air bubbles and lovely wavy lines.
