Wonderful find, this beautiful cast iron mailbox
The lid is designed for a padlock and has a flap on the top for the postal person to deposit letters, and when unlocked the second lid is opened to retrieve mail. The front viewing hole allows you to see in the box without opening it.
You can easily spray-paint these any color you wish to match your house colors.
Please note if you are looking for a mailbox to use, these will hold mail and small envelopes, but larger items will not fit.
Circa: 1930s
Measures: 12½” tall, 5¾” wide, 3” depth.
Condition: very solid light surface rust, needs new paint.
