1890s Lancaster Brand Eagle Functioning Toy Stove
Wonderful find, this fully functional toy wood or coal-burning stove, made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Manufactured in 1890, this would have been the antique version of the Easy-Bake Oven. The stove is made of cast iron with a nickel-plated finish. Yes, a wood or coal-burning stove for your children to play with!!

John Hubley had enjoyed designing toys for his children. He founded his company in the 1890s, producing cast-iron toys.
The "Eagle" stoves came in a variety of models and sizes. This is the larger and rarer version of the six-burner stove with a rectangular warming plate on the right side of the stove top. All the plates are removable, and the round plates (missing one) are interchangeable. The interior of the stove seems complete; it has two dampers, one on each side of the stove. The Front of the stove has 2 opening doors center, and the door on the left side. Two detachable side wings, the one on the right, is missing the tabs which connect it to the stove. The chimney chase is also removable; it is missing the tin chimney stove pipe, which runs up through the chase.
The set includes the original cast-iron skillets & an aluminum kettle, and two sad irons with no handle.
The stove measures 13” to the top of the chimney chase and 13” x 6 ½” at the base, without detachable side wings. Weighs 13.8 pounds.
This was not a salesman's sample; this was a child's toy on a grand scale.

Condition: fair for age, with plating loss on surfaces. Sold AS IS.
