Antique Coal King Miners' Safety Cap
Wonderful find, this rare T.R. Jones Company miners' safety cap. Made by the T.R. Jones Company of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The hat is made of a reinforced Bakelite plastic shell with a thick leather brim and a leather-and-metal lamp bracket on the front. The inside of the shell has a leather band with the Jones Company label on the outer edge. The front bracket holds a larger-sized Justrite carbide lamp. The lantern is metal, not brass. Lantern is marked on top (Justrite, Made in USA).
This treasure is an original miner's cap. The cap is as found, uncleaned and original, a pure treasure.
Circa 1920+
Measures: front to back 14½” x 7” wide x 7” tall.
Condition: As Found.
